Interview with Larry Hilliard, an Army veteran and nurse, concerning his experiences as an Army nurse in Vietnam from 1970 to 1971. Hilliard discusses his assignment to the 18th Surgical Hospital at Quang Tri, a typical workday, off-duty recreation, the treatment of combat casualties, equipment and blood shortages, drug problems, morale, communications with his family, leave policies, his work with Vietnamese civilians, treating enemy POWs, "short time," and the lasting effects of the Vietnam experience.
